Commercial glass in Doral

Most of a Doral building is wall and roll-up door. The glass is concentrated at the front, where the office and the showroom meet the visitor.

A warehouse or distribution site has little glass, and it matters out of proportion. Showroom frontage, trade counter windows, business park office entrances and the glazed screen between a dock office and the floor are the openings that get broken, and each one leaves a site open or a work area exposed.

Breakage comes from a short list of causes: pallets and lift trucks, debris thrown up by yard traffic, forced entry and thermal stress. Our own technicians repair and re-glaze the existing openings, board up around the clock and look after the door hardware around the glass.

What we get called for here

  • Showroom and trade counter pane replacement in existing frames
  • Emergency board-up on gated sites, dispatched around the clock
  • Office entrance glass doors, closers, patch fittings and locks
  • Dock office and supervisor window glass
  • Sealed unit replacement in business park suites
  • Sliding glass door and window repair in offices

What is different here

Glass in Doral, specifically

Impact comes from inside the site

On a Doral site the likeliest source of breakage is a lift truck or a pallet. After a strike we check the frame and the pivot as well as the pane, because a glass door that has been knocked out of true will crack its replacement.

Gated sites change the board-up job

Getting a technician and a sheet of board through a gate and past a guard or a security desk is part of the job. We ask for gate codes and contact names on the first call, so arrival at the gate takes minutes and not a chain of phone calls.

Safety glass belongs where people walk

Glass beside a door or near floor level should be safety glazing, either tempered or laminated. When we replace a pane in an office or showroom we check what type was fitted and put back the same or better.

In practice

The first night, and the permanent glass

When a pane goes at the front of a warehouse, the building is open to the yard. The first job is to secure the opening. We board it, photograph it for the insurer and leave the site secure.

Replacement glass is made to size. Tempered panes cannot be cut after toughening, and laminated and insulated units are built to order, so every opening is measured first. The gap between the break and the new pane is the board-up's job.

Repair and re-glazing of existing openings, board-up and the hardware on glass doors are performed by our own W-2 employees and require no Florida contractor license. A full storefront replacement that needs a permit and a product approval submittal is coordinated through a licensed contractor, and we say at survey which one applies.

Common questions

Glass in Doral

Can you board up a showroom at night on a gated site?

Yes. Board-up is dispatched 24 hours a day. Give us the gate code or a contact on the call and we will arrange access while the technician is on the way.

A lift truck hit our glass door. Is the frame damaged as well?

It can be. We check the frame, the pivots and the closer along with the glass, since a door knocked out of true will crack its replacement.

Do you replace glass in dock office windows?

Yes, where the opening already exists. We replace the pane to match the type already there, and check that safety glazing goes where people could strike it.

What if our storefront needs replacing instead of repairing?

A replacement that needs a permit and a product approval submittal goes through a licensed contractor, which we coordinate. Repair and re-glazing of the existing opening stays with our own technicians.
