Aventura frontages are mostly glass, and a cracked pane on one of them is visible from the street.
Retail and showroom frontage along the Biscayne corridor is glass from the knee to the head of the door, and the lobbies of the towers behind it are glazed the same way. A break here is seen by every customer and resident who walks past, so both the speed of the board-up and the quality of the match count.
Medical and dental suites add interior glazing: reception screens, partition panels and entrance doors that face a shared corridor. Our own technicians repair and re-glaze existing openings and board up around the clock.

What is different here
Tinted, laminated and coated glass has to match what sits beside it. A new pane with a different tint reads as a patch from the sidewalk. We record the type of each pane at survey, so the replacement is ordered to match its neighbors.
Lobby and podium glazing in a tower comes with a certificate of insurance, an elevator or loading window, and an agreed time when the entrance can be closed. We arrange those at scheduling and keep the opening boarded and safe in the meantime.
Fitting a storefront pane closes part of the frontage. Early morning or after closing keeps the unit trading, and the board-up covers the gap between the break and the new glass.
In practice
Tempered glass is made to its final size and cannot be trimmed on site. Laminated and insulated units are built to order, and every one has to be measured first. So the opening is boarded the same night and the permanent pane follows. The board-up is a proper temporary closure, fixed to the frame and photographed, because it has to hold until the glass is ready.
Where a frontage faces the street we cut the board square to the opening and keep it tidy, since it is what customers see until the glass is back.
Repair and re-glazing of existing openings, glass door repair and board-up are performed by our own W-2 employees and require no Florida contractor license. A full storefront replacement that needs a permit and a product approval submittal is coordinated through a licensed contractor, and we tell you at survey which one you are looking at.

Usually, if we know what is in the frame. We note the thickness, tint and construction at survey and order the replacement to suit. Where the original coating is no longer made, we say so and tell you the closest option before you commit.
Yes. Closers, pivots, patch fittings, handles and locks on glass entrance doors are our work, as is replacing a cracked leaf in an existing opening. We lodge insurance with building management and book the access before the visit.
We board it up and secure it, and photograph before and after for your claim file. Board-up is dispatched 24 hours a day. Measuring for the permanent glass follows.
Yes, and most retail work should. Fitting is planned for early morning or after closing so the unit trades normally. Emergencies go out when they happen.
