Salons and spas

Locks and access control for Miami salons and spas

A salon hands out more keys than almost any business its size, and most of them are never written down.

Booth renters, stylists, therapists, assistants and cleaners all need to get in, often outside the hours anybody else is there. Each arrangement gets made individually and none of it lands in a register, so the honest answer to who holds a key is usually nobody knows.

The stock is the other half. Retail product and color are compact, expensive and easy to move, and they sit in rooms that were never really secured because the salon grew into the space rather than fitting it out for it.

Why TrionX

How we approach it.

Turnover is the whole problem

A salon that has run five years has issued keys to people it can no longer name. A register plus a restricted keyway means a departure is a line in a book rather than a decision about whether to rekey the building.

Privacy locks that are still exits

Treatment room doors have to give privacy and still open from inside without a key or a second action. Both matter, and the hardware that does one and not the other gets fitted more often than it should.

The back door is the recurring one

Propped for deliveries, air or a break, then not latching properly on its own by the end of the year. It is a security problem and a pest one at the same time, and it is usually a closer or a strike rather than a habit.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

A booth renter has left and not returned the key. What now?

Treat it as being in somebody else's hands, because it is. On a standard keyway a returned key proves nothing either, since it may have been copied at any counter. Rekeying the affected doors is the only measure that ends the access, and it is a short visit rather than a project.

Can renters have their own access without their own key to everything?

Yes, and that is what a master key system is for. Each renter gets a key to their own room or station and to the doors they genuinely need, while you hold a key that opens everything. It is set up once and it removes most of the arguments afterward.

Do treatment room locks have to open from inside?

They have to let somebody out without a key and without a second action, which is a life safety requirement rather than a preference. Privacy function hardware does exactly that: it locks against entry and always releases from within.

Do you work on the salon software or the booking system?

No. Booking systems, payment terminals and anything on the network belong elsewhere and we do not represent otherwise. We handle the physical side: locks, keys, registers, door hardware, keypads and readers, and the doors and finishes around them.

Know who holds a key

Rekeying after a departure, a written register issued to you, and restricted keyways where copies need your say-so. Performed by background-checked employees, with no contractor license required.
